I have been a nurse since 1982. I retired from nursing to focus on offering holistic alternative modalities that can be used in conjunction with traditional allopathic medicine or as a stand alone option.
I am a Reiki Master Teacher, a meditation coach, and a student of Shamanic healing. I have also conducted research in the benefits of mindfulness and resilience training to manage stress, anxiety and burnout.
Reiki is a great tool for stress reduction and relaxation as well as promoting wellness. Reiki is not a cure for a disease or illness, but it may assist the body in creating an environment to facilitate healing. Reiki is a great tool to use as a complement to traditional medicine and is practiced in many hospitals and medical care settings.
Life force energy exists naturally in our bodies and moves through our energy centers (chakras) and pathways (meridians). The energy naturally flows between the body and the world around us. All life experiences have an impact upon us. Some experiences will be positive and some negative. If the energy becomes blocked or disrupted in any of these centers, it can result in illness of the body, mind, or spirit. It is important to keep the chakras open and healthy
